About a Boy Prompt Writing
“When children have to ‘look after’ their parents.”
When I was nine, my dad was dying of cancer. Before we had to move I would always watch him when he was asleep and wonder if he was okay; I mean he slept most of the day away and I didn’t understand why. Then when we moved to Missouri with my aunt, she told me I didn’t have to watch him anymore and I wasn’t really allowed to see him either, but that didn’t stop me from leaving my room and sneaking into his to see if he was okay. The outcome was always the same- always sleeping. Now I’m looking after my aunt. Sometimes she gets down in the dumps and says some really dumb things that make me worry. I also worry and look after my grandparents. They have done it for me for as long as I can remember, now it’s my turn.
Such as a thing as too much free time?
Yes, there is a time when you have to much free time and man it’s scary. In the beginning you’re more than happy to lounge around and do nothing, but after a while it begins to get to you. You begin to think of the worst moments in your life and relive them over and over, then you begin to overthink just about everything. Then all these thoughts and overthinking everything begins to get to you and it drives you mad, so then you have a burst of anger and have a fit about everything no matter how big or small. And after the anger comes sadness, now you are sad about everything. I advise you to just take a nap and everything will be okay.
